Mission statement: To create awareness and mobilize the citizenry towards people-oriented development programmes through effective media outfits inthe state.

Functions of the MDA:

1 Formulation of policies that would bring about effective information disseminationto the public in line with the national policy on information.

 2  Liaise with local, national and international MDAs and NGOs on all matters relating to information and its dissemination.

 3  Ensure capacity building programmes for staffers towards achieving the desired organizational objectives.

 4  Monitor and supervise information and communication related agencies: Newsline, Radio Niger and Niger State Television.

 5  To evolve an effective information dissemination machinery

 6  To mobilize Nigerlites attaining state Vision 3:2020

 Ongoing projects:

 (1)    Installation of Radio and Television transmiterhigher wattage transmitters

(2)   Supply of studio equipment and installation of additional 10 kilowatts transmitter for FM Radio

(3)   Construction of a transmitter House, Generator House and installation of a 40 watts transmitter for the state Television

 Proposed projects:

 (1)   Establishment Zonal Media Centres in Bida, Kontagora,and Suleja fully equipped with ICT equipment

(2)   24-hour broadcasting on Niger State Radio and Television stations
