The State is governed by a system that is comprised of the Executive, Judicial & the Legislative branches. Niger state has 25 local government areas to facilitate maintenance of law & order, rural development and political administration.  The Ministries are headed by Commissioners who specialise in the respective areas of jurisdiction. They are part of the Executive Council and help the Governor with the development of the state.
